    Allegra Tablet

    Allegra tablet's major component is fexofenadine. Allegra tablet is used to relieve symptoms related with seasonal allergies. These ailments afflict 40 million American children 12 years and above and adults on a recurring basis. Seasonal allergies are caused by the bodies' reactions to allergens. These usually become apparent during spring and fall when large amounts of allergens such as pollen are disseminated in the air.

    Each allegra tablet contains 30 mg, 60 mg, or 180 mg fexofenadine hydrochloride (depending on the dosage strength). Allegra tablet is taken orally, twice a day. Taking antacids containing aluminum and magnesium within 2 hours of taking allegra tablet is prohibited. The recommended dosage of Allegra tablet is one 60mg twice everyday or 180 mg once everyday for adults and children 12 years and older. For children 6 to 11 years old, 30 mg twice everyday is recommended.

    Allegra comes in varying formulations, to give you the best respite from the bulk of your seasonal allergy symptoms. When you're suffering from seasonal allergy symptoms without congestion select Allegra tablet. But when nasal congestion is a problem, Allegra-D will be a better option.

    Caution should be taken when performing tasks that call for mental alertness since allegra tablet will, in rare occasion, cause drowsiness. Actually, fexofenadine in allegra tablet causes less drowsiness than other antihistamines. But if allegro tabet causes drowsiness, driving the car or operating machinery should be avoided until drowsiness wear off. Taking alcohol could also increase dizziness and drowsiness. And inform you doctor in case of grave illnesses such as heart, kidney or liver. Classified as a Category C, Allegra tablet 's effect to the unborn baby is not known. Allegra tablet's effects when nursing is also not known. Consulting a physician before taking Allegra tablet if you're pregnant, planning to obtain pregnant or nursing a baby is advisable.

    Side effects with Allegra tablet are all low and rare. Allegra tablet 180 mg when taken for seasonal allergies could sometimes cause headache, cold, or backache. Side effects of Allegra tablet 60 mg when taken for seasonal allergies are reported to be experienced by less than 3% of people taking it. The symptoms include: cold or flu, nausea, menstrual pain, or drowsiness. Allegra tablet 60 mg used for hives could manifest backache, sinusitis, dizziness, or drowsiness. Side effects with Allegra tablet 30mg include headache, cold, coughing, or accidental injury.
