    Allegra D Tablet

    Allegra D tablet is a combination of antihistamine (fexofenadine) and decongestant (pseudoephedrine). The fexofenadine in Allegra D tablet blocks histamines which can cause allergic reactions. Unlike other antihistamines, Fexonadine does not cause sedation. Pseudoephedrine's decongestant effect in Allegra D tablet is possible because of its capability to narrow blood vessels in turn preventing fluid from leaving the vessels and causing tissues to swell.
    Allegra D tablet combines the allergy respite of the medicine Allegra with a potent decongestant (pseudoephedrine). Hence, the name Allegra D. Allegra D tablet is the bulk effective in treating allergic rhinitis and seasonal hay fever. Allegra D tablet is also prescribed for runny nose, sneezing, and nasal stuffiness from the average cold. Allegra D tablet may also be used in treating bronchitis or pharyngitis and for inflamed and congested sinuses (sinusitis).
    Allegra D tablet acts fast. Study displays that among the patients taking Allegra D tablet, nasal congestion was relieved in 60 minutes. In a single Allegra D tablet, 60mg of fexofenadine and 120mg of pseudoephedrine can be found. Allegra D tablet should be taken twice daily. But for those with kidney troubles or above 60 years old, once a day is recommended. Allegra D tablet is best taken with an empty stomach, an hour before the meal for maximum effect.
    Taking Allegra D tablet could cause possible side effects which include headache, restlessness, nervousness, drowsiness, abdominal pain and at worst, convulsions. To avoid Allegra D tablet side effects, one should not combine it with a monoamine oxidase (MAO) inhibitor medication. Avoid taking Allegra-D within 2 weeks of using an MAO-inhibitor drug such as Marplan, Nardil, or Parnate. Those with urine retention problems, glaucoma, severe high blood pressure and heart disease should refrain from taking Allegra D tablet too. Beverages containing cafeine combined with the pseudoephedrine in Allegra D tablet may cause restlessness and insomnia. If you take Allegra D tablet, it's best to minimize intake of these drinks or stop taking them altogether. Allegra D tablet may also cause drowsiness or dizziness. It is best to refrain from doing tasks that requires mental alertness such as driving and using machines while still in medication or at least until the effects of Allegra D tablet are known. Watch out for severe side effect symptoms from using Allegra D tablet. In case of difficulties arising from use of Allegra D tablet, you should confer a doctor to know if you need to lower the dosage or stop using Allegra D tablet altogether.
